Working with Masks

Masking allows you to place media (such as an image or video) inside shapes or text, giving you advanced control over how your elements are cropped and animated.

  • Basic Mask Cropping: Double-click any media on the canvas to manually drag and adjust its crop boundaries, or use the panel settings to adjust the border radius for rounded corners.

  • Creating Text Masks: Place a text layer over your video, select both layers on the timeline, and right-click to choose Mask so the video plays strictly inside the text.

  • Detaching & Animating Masks: Click Detach Mask in the settings panel to animate or scale the text layer independently from the underlying video, which is ideal for creating zoom-in text transitions.

  • Grouping Masked Media: Right-click and Group your finished mask to seal it into a single element, allowing you to easily move and reposition the entire asset across your canvas without breaking your custom animations.
