Adding Text to Character Cards

Add a character to the canvas > Add the Holding a Card action

How to Work with Character Actions

1. Increase the duration of the action in the timeline as needed

Note that the card has a scale-up animation.

2. Position the marker to the point where the card has reached its full size

It should be somewhere between 00:00 and 00:01

3. Add text to the card and adjust its position

4. Adjust the text element to the left so that the text starts at the beginning. It should look like this

Next, animate the text with a scale-up animation to create an illusion that the text is written on the card.

5. Place the marker at the start of the timeline.

6. Select the Text element on the timeline

7. Click on Add Animation

8. Select Scale

Keyframe points should appear on the Text element in the timeline

9. Adjust the keyframes so that it starts at the beginning and ends where the card scales to full size (see Step #2)

10. Select the first keyframe and set the size of the text to zero.

11. Go to the second keyframe and set the size of the text to full size, making sure that it fits the card.

12. Move the marker and find the point where the character changes the card. Make sure that the text ends there.

13. Add new text to the new card. Repeat adding text as needed.
