Java Script Error

Javascript errors occur when opening the app if there is a missing file or a permission issue.

Windows

Javascript errors are usually caused by either security software or lack of admin privileges on a work computer.

1. If you are using a work computer, and you don't have full administrative privileges, you will need to

  • run the app as an administrator
  • or use a different device.

If you have administrative privileges on your computer,

  • temporarily disable the antivirus app,
  • download CreateStudio, install it,
  • and then turn the antivirus back on.

The reason for this is that the antivirus software can quarantine and remove some key files that will prevent the app from launching and working properly.

In some cases, you need to delete the app and all its associated files and reinstall it.

If you've tried downloading and installing and are still getting the error:

2. Some anti-virus apps will block files associated with the app after an update and cause the javascript error to appear despite it working previously.

  • Whitelisting in the antivirus software program so that the file doesn't get scanned or flagged should resolve the issue.

The process will be similar in any program.

The steps to add an exclusion may vary depending on the antivirus software you are using.

Mac

Javascript errors on Mac usually happen because of the following:

  • Work computer- If you are using a work computer unless you have full administrative privileges, you will need to use a different device.

  • If the application is not installed correctly because of some missing or corrupted files, the app will not function and you will get a Javascript error.  To fix this, you will need to uninstall the app, and then reinstall it.
